Level 2 Play

 Level 2 Play

Playing Spent and Gods Will Be Watching gave me two very different but memorable experiences. Both games pulled me in and made me think hard about the choices I was making, but the lessons I walked away with were not the same. They showed me how play can put me in situations that are tough, sometimes frustrating, but also really eye-opening.

Spent
When I played Spent, I really felt the pressure of trying to stretch a small budget just to make it through the month. Every choice I made, like whether to pay a bill, buy groceries, or go without something, came with tough consequences that often left me feeling stuck. The game made me realize how quickly one decision could spiral into bigger problems. I did manage to make it through the whole 30 days once, but it was tough and felt like every day was a struggle just to survive. It really showed me how difficult it is to balance survival, health, and responsibilities when money is so limited.

Gods Will Be Watching
Gods Will Be Watching was a completely different experience. Instead of focusing on money, it put me in situations where I had to manage a group of people under extreme stress. The hardest part was making choices that often meant sacrificing one person to keep the others alive. I learned quickly that even small decisions could completely change how things played out, and there were times when everything fell apart because of a single mistake. The longest I managed to survive was 16 days before losing everyone, which showed me just how difficult the game’s moral and strategic choices really are.
